Tamilnadu Pongal Gift Scheme launched
The Tamilnadu Pongal Gift Scheme was launched by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on 20 December 2020. According to the plan, a plan has been made to distribute Pongal gift hampers to 2.1 crore rice vendors of the state. Earlier, in the years 2013, 2014 and 2016, the government distributed gift hampers and Rs 100 per family.But this time it has been decided to give Rs 2,500 and gift hampers.

Rs. 2,500 Monetary Assistance in Pongal Gift Scheme
TN government will give 2,500 monetary assistance amount per family Pongal gift scheme / Tamilnadu Pongal Gift Scheme. Beneficiary Price and gift hamper Distribution in Tamil Nadu Pongal Gift Scheme
The Thai Pongal festival will be celebrated from 14 to 17 January. From January 4, gift hampers will be distributed through fair price shops/Ration shops. Officers will issue tokens to cardholders at their doorstep. The public can visit public distribution outlets (ration shops) on the date given in the token and receive gifts and cash. The state government has allocated an amount of Rs 5,604.84 crore to implement this Tamilnadu Pongal Gift Scheme. CM Palaniswami’s Speech on the launching of TN Pongal gift scheme
Speaking at the launch of the Pongal gift scheme in Edappadi constituency, Palaniswami said that due to the efforts of the AIADMK government, which followed the path laid down by Purathithlever MGR and Puritithvi Amma, the state managed to stop the spread of Kovid-19 . He also took various welfare schemes provided by the government to the public and the state government signed on with corporate houses and industrial groups which would provide many employment opportunities to the youth.
